Join us at the latest PL&B roundtable on 20 February 2024 (registration at 3.00pm for 3.30pm start at Arbor) to explore how organisations are implementing the ICO's recent Employment practices and data protection: monitoring workers guidance We will also cover the ICO’s consultations on keeping employment records, and recruitment and selection. Bryony Long and Alexander Milner-Smith, Co-Chairs of our Data, Privacy and Cyber practice at Lewis Silkin will be joined by Dr Lutz Keppeller, Partner, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek and Rupert Paines, Barrister, 11KBW.

We will:

  • Learn about the changes the new guidance brings and how the ICO expects employers to respond
  • Explore the nuances in the EU (with a focus on Germany) about monitoring (and how it can be hard to have a “one size fits all approach” which works in the UK, France, Germany et al)
  • Discuss Artificial Intelligence in the worker monitoring space and what employers need to know
  • Analyse how works councils and employee representative bodies approach worker monitoring
  • And finally - (Try to) Answer all and any questions you might have
